Despite a solid effort, our Hoppers Crossing 3rd XI were downed by Preston 3rd XI in a disappointing result.
The scorecard reads Hoppers Crossing 3rd XI 10/150, Preston 3rd XI 3/162. A classy 66 off 73 balls from Syed Bilal Mehdi was the highlight. Abdul Javed contributed 32 off 79 balls. Daniel Cominotto bowled beautifully for our opponents, a six-wicket haul of six for 46.
Ayden Norman picked up two for 26 off 6.2 overs. Jake Leahy made a good 102 not out for the hosts, a century worth applauding. Daniel Daddona remained unbeaten on 36 for our opponents.
Not our day, but there's plenty to work with.
Congratulations to the hosts on the win.
