It was smiles all round as our Hoppers Crossing 4th XI were too good for St Bernard's OC 4th XI on Saturday, winning by three wickets.
St Bernard's OC 4th XI batted first and reached 9/163 from 40 overs. Credit to Geoff Kiker, who made 47 for the hosts. Akhil Chowdary Dasari was the hero with the ball, claiming a five-wicket haul (five for 39). Roghan Arun Preethi chipped in with three for 26.
In reply, the group reached the target at 7/164 in 34.2 overs. Aaron Samson made a great 60 off 84 balls, a well-made fifty. Fifty for Preethi, who finished with 51 off 43 balls.
Our bowlers led the way on the day. A cracking effort from the side.
