It just wasn't our day: our Hoppers Crossing 4th XI went down to Melton 4th XI in a disappointing result.
Melton 4th XI's innings closed at 5/217 from 40 overs. Damien Costigan made a fine 117 not out for the visitors, a century worth applauding. Tyson Kilmartin made 34 for our opponents. Abdullah Riyaz led the way with the ball, finishing with two for 46.
Chasing 218, we reached 9/199 from 40 overs. A classy 64 off 55 balls from Patrick Mills was the highlight. Siddharth Vallinayagam played a handy knock of 30. Credit to Inderpreet Singh, who took three for 41 for the visitors. Kallen Rybicki chipped in with three for 42 for our opponents.
Plenty to take out of this one.
Congratulations to the visitors on the win.
