It was a day to regroup for our Hoppers Crossing 1st XI, who lost out to Brunswick 1st XI in a disappointing result.
Batting first, we were all out for 198 in 45 overs. A classy 70 off 82 balls from Simon Lambert was the highlight. Bibek Virk added a useful 32 off 60 balls. David Bonavia took a five-wicket haul for Brunswick 1st XI, finishing with five for 37. Zach Chamberlain finished with three for 37 for our opponents.
The visitors knocked off the runs, finishing on 2/202 in 37 overs. Ben Rowles passed fifty for our opponents, finishing with 78 not out. The visitors' best was a half-century from Gregory Holmes, who made 50 not out.
Plenty to take out of this one. It's been a tough run, and we'll be working hard to turn it around.
Credit to our opponents, and well played.
