It wasn't to be for our HCCC 6th XI, who were bettered by Altona Sports 7th XI in a tough outing.
Altona Sports 7th XI's innings closed at 8/194 from 35 overs. Sarveen Jaiswal posted 51 for our opponents, a classy fifty. With the ball, Muthu Balakrishnan did the damage, claiming three for 22 off seven overs.
Our chase ended at 8/169 from 35 overs. Rayan Waqas batted well for 45. Balakrishnan chipped in with 32. Michael Sayers returned three for 24 for the hosts.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one.
Plenty to work on, and plenty to like.
